Customer Service and Sales Representative

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

On-Point Archery Customer Service and Sales Representative performs various selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging all customers, handling merchandise, providing product and instruction information, fielding product inquires, and general archery equipment information, assembly of products and direction / instruction to customers.

On-Point Archery is a learning and training center for archers of all levels – from those who have never picked up a bow, to those training for competition. We need energetic, outgoing individuals to serve as sales associates and potentially coaches/instructors and who can create a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for individuals and groups to learn about the sport.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports a strong commitment to the finest customer service in the industry and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Demonstrates products to customers and answers product questions.
  • Replenishes product on shelves as required.
  • Aspires to be a product “expert” through ongoing product knowledge training.
  • Remains knowledgeable of advertised sales; maintains pricing and signing.
  • Assists with tasks as directed by the sales manager.
  • Restocks merchandise as required.
  • Performs minor cleaning tasks as directed by sales manager, keeps work area clean, neat and well stocked with supplies.
  • Follows all Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Identifies and evaluates customers needs and makes appropriate gear and service recommendations based on that analysis.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses archery equipment to make certain it is safe and functioning properly.
  • Installs bow accessory items and demonstrates products to customers.
  • Assists customers by answering technical questions to help the customer understand the operation of the unit and the work to be done or work already completed.
  • Completes OTJ technical training to improve proficiency, quality of work and to achieve higher levels of product knowledge.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School education or equivalent experience
  • Basic understanding of archery or desire to learn.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make changes to customers purchases.
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to our customers and staff
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Management, coworkers and customers
  • Ability to operate computerized Point of Sale register system
  • Must be available to work Weekends and Evenings
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office
  • Able to work independently and in a team
  • Successful background screening
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen

Preferred but not required:

  • Ability to perform draw length measurements, identifying eye dominance, and determining appropriate draw weight.
  • Ability to perform minor bow assembly and accessory installation such as kisser button, peep sights, D loop, knock location, and sight installation.
  • Knowledge of arrow set up to include but not limited to; arrow length, spine, and insert installation.
  • Instructs customers on safety, accessories, bow features and brand awareness.
  • USA Archery certified instructor status or the ability and desire to obtain same
  • Experience teaching adults and children at an introductory level

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Constantly stand and/or walk during shift
  • Occasionally ascend or descend ladders and stairs
  • Constantly communicate with others to exchange information
  • Occasionally repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds constantly, may occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed)

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Performs tasks and duties with minimal or no supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices based on ongoing expansion of on-the-job experience.

SALARY RANGE: Looking for full-time or part-time employees

Starting Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.75

Full-time: 35+ hours per week

Part-time: < 20 Hours a week
